2. Entering into a contract with us

2.1 When you place an order with us, you are making an offer to buy goods. We will send you an email to confirm that we have received your order.
2.2 Images of products on this website are for illustrative purposes only. Your goods may vary slightly from the image shown on the website and will not include any of the pictured accessories, unless stated in the specification of the goods. Whilst goods may be shown assembled they may require assembly by you.
2.3 We have made every effort to display as accurately as possible the colours of our products that appear on this website. However, we cannot guarantee that your computer monitor’s display of any colour will accurately reflect the colour of the actual goods.
2.4 Whilst we try to be as accurate as possible, all information provided is approximate and is provided in good faith.
2.5 This contract is covered by English law.
2.6 By placing an order with us, you agree to and accept these terms, as well as our privacy policy and the terms of website use

3. How to place order

3.1 You can use our website to place an order by selecting the product you wish to buy and adding it to your basket. Items you do not require can be removed from your basket at any time. If you prefer to order by telephone you can do so by calling 0114 2737524
3.2 Shipping charges will be shown prior to you confirming your order at the checkout 3.3 You will be required to pay for the goods in full at the time of ordering.
3.4 We use secure payment facilities for online purchases. You can pay for your order by Visa/Mastercard.
3.5 Promotional prices only apply during the period stated.
3.6 All prices quoted on our website are in UK pounds and include Value Added Tax at the current rate.
3.8 Once your order has been confirmed, changes may not be possible or may incur additional charges or delays.
3.7 Once your order is complete we will notify you of the dispatch date.
3.8 Please note with all replacement kitchen doors if you do not select that you require hinge pockets the doors/drawers will come undrilled.

4. Delivery & Carriage Charges

4.1 Goods will normally be dispatched from our warehouse within 7-14 working days and any estimated dispatch date is an estimate, which can change without notice.
4.2 We will normally deliver goods within 1-2 working days of dispatch. 4.3 Your order may arrive in more than one delivery
4.4 We can deliver our doors anywhere in mainland Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland. There will be a charge to deliver goods to the Channel Islands, the Highlands/Islands of Scotland & The Isle of Wight.
4.5 Goods will be dispatched to the delivery address provided by you at checkout.
4.6 Most of our products are relatively weighty items and you may be required to assist the driver in offloading your order. Please note all our worktop deliveries are a 2 man delivery service except deliveries in Scotland which come via a one man delivery service in which you may need to assist.
4.7 Disposal of packing materials is your responsibility.
4.8 There may be additional charges should you change your delivery address after the goods have been dispatched
4.9 All goods should be inspected thoroughly on delivery and before any installation work commences. Any work carried out to any of the goods received constitutes immediate acceptance of the items. This includes cutting, oiling or any alterations that remove the item from its original condition. Any defects or faults later reported will be deemed as to have been caused by, and thus bear the responsibility of the customer (Unless the customer can demonstrate otherwise) Sheffield Kitchen Supplies are not responsible for any fault or damage caused by negligent installation or failure to comply with our installation and aftercare instructions. Any goods found to be missing or damaged should be notified to the delivery driver at the time of delivery or ourselves within two working days.
4.10 If the goods are lost or damaged in transit, please let us know within two working days
4.11 Deliveries are made to the ground floor only and on the condition that there is reasonable access for the safe and prompt delivery of the goods. You should tell us about any special delivery requirements or conditions when you place your order. Drivers are only insured to deliver kerb side.
4.12 Sometimes, for reasons beyond our control we may be prevented from delivering your goods as planned. These might include things such as accidents, breakdowns, fire, flood, storm, severe weather, acts of god, war, riot, civil commotion, malicious damage or the default of our suppliers. We will try to put things right as soon as possible however we can’t be responsible where this causes a delay or failure in delivering your goods. As such, we do not advise that any existing fittings are removed until successful delivery has been achieved. We cannot be held responsible for any fees or losses caused by a delivery that is not delivered on the initial date but is still delivered within a resonable time-frame. In the unlikely case that a delay in delivery does occur, we will of course give the order our utmost and attempt to resolve any problems in the shortest period of time possible.
4.13 We will deliver the goods to the premises you specify on your order. You must be at home to accept delivery of your order, which is between 7:30am and 10:00pm Monday-Friday.
4.14 If there is no one to accept the order on the scheduled delivery date the goods may be returned to the factory and we reserve the right to charge you an additional re-delivery charge.

5. Cancellation and returns

5.1 This policy does not apply to goods ordered by businesses which are exempt from the Distance Selling Regulations, or the following goods which are exempt from the right to cancel. Any items
which have been custom made, such as doors made from our Made to Order ranges (Pronto, Valore, Zufiz, Bella), colours/styles outside of the options listed on our website, or any door which you have asked us to drill for hinge holes. For Trade and Business customers, please see section 8.
5.2 You can cancel your contract at any time up to 48 hours after the day of delivery. To do this, please email or write to us. We are unable to accept cancellations by phone.
5.3 You do not have to give any reason for cancellation. However, a brief explanation will help us to improve the service we offer to customers in the future.
5.4 Items must be returned to us at your own expense (regardless of the circumstances), along with their original packaging, within 2 weeks should you cancel your order. You must ensure that such items are packaged sufficiently to prevent damage in transit.
5.5 You may properly examine the goods for 14 days as you would have had you visited our showroom, however you may not return any goods that have been installed unless they are faulty. For exempt goods please see point 5.1.
5.5 We will refund all monies paid to us by you including any postage / carriage within 30 days, less any costs due under this contract. Please see point 5.1
5.6 This cancellation policy does not affect your legal rights – for example, if goods are faulty or misdescribed.
5.7 We reserve the right not to replace any item that has been fitted, as we will deem this acceptance of the goods.
5.8 We will not be held liable for fitters fees or any other professional trades persons fees due to late, damaged or lost deliveries.
5.9 We are not liable for any loss earnings due to late, incorrect or lost deliveries.
5.10 We reserve the right to refuse replacements on any damaged items reported to us outside of two working days. Please refer to points: 4.9 and 4.10. This cancellation policy does not affect your legal rights – for example, if goods are faulty or misdescribed.

6. Faulty Goods / Guarantee

6.1 If there is a problem with the goods, please notify us by email or in writing within 48hours providing details of the problem. In addition, you must provide us with a digital photograph of the problem as this saves you having to return the goods for inspection. We will deal with the matter in accordance with your legal rights. Please see points 4.9 and 4.10 for time restriction.
6.2 All goods are covered by a manufacturer’s warranty against faulty workmanship and materials, subject to the terms and conditions of that warranty.
6.3 The manufacturer’s warranty is provided in addition to the rights that the law says you have as a consumer and accordingly, your statutory rights are not affected.
6.4 All our doors, drawers and colour matched accessories are guaranteed against materials and workmanship defects for a period of 6 years.
6.5 The Products are intended for use only in the UK. We do not warrant that the Products comply with the laws, regulations or standards outside the UK.
6.5.1 We provide a warranty that on delivery, the Products shall:
1.subject to clause 6.5.3, conform in all material respects with their description; 2. be free from material defects in design, material and workmanship; and
3. be of satisfactory quality (within the meaning of the Sale of Goods Act 1979).
6.5.2 Subject to clause 6.5.3, if:
1. you give us notice in writing and photo evidence within 48 hours of delivery that some or all of the Products do not comply with the warranty set out in clause 6.5.1;
2. we are given a reasonable opportunity of examining the Products; and
3. we ask you to do so, you return the Products to us at our cost, we will, at our option, repair or replace the defective Products, or credit your account/customer record with
the value of the returned Products for use against a future order.
6.5.3 We will not be liable for breach of the warranty set out in clause 6.5.1 if:
1. you make any further use of the Products after giving notice to us under clause 6.5.2;
2. the defect arises as a result of us following any drawing, design or specification
supplied by you;
3. you alter or attempt to repair the Products without our written consent;
4. the defect arises as a result of fair wear and tear, wilful damage, negligence, or
abnormal storage or working conditions; or
5. the Products differ from their description or specification as a result of changes made
to ensure they comply with applicable statutory or regulatory requirements.
6.5.4 Work on products after delivery or collection constitutes acceptance. If you carry out work on a Product after delivery or collection, for example by installing, cutting, oiling (save for a test patch), or otherwise making alterations which remove the Product from its original condition, you will deemed to have accepted the Product as free from defects or damage. If you later report defects or damage, you will be deemed to have caused them unless you can demonstrate that the defect or damage was present on delivery or collection. The warranty becomes void once the worktop has been cut/fitted, due to the customer taking full responsibility for the condition of the goods delivered.
1. We will only be liable to you for the Products’ failure to comply with the warranty set out in clause 6.5.1 to the extent set out in this clause 6.5.
2. The terms implied by sections 13 to 15 of the Sale of Goods Act 1979 are, to the fullest extent permitted by law, excluded from the Contract.
3. These Terms also apply to any repaired or replacement Products supplied by us to you.
6.6 Doors should be cleaned in accordance with our care and maintenance instructions, failure to do so may void your warranty.
6.7 Items located near any source of heat or steam should be protected either by heat deflectors or other suitable protection.
6.8 Items situated below a sink, covering a dishwasher, washing machine or other similar appliance should be protected against excessive water contact.
6.9 Within the time-scale laid out in point 6.4, we will replace defective goods free of charge, at our discretion, providing that you have returned to us any faulty goods upon request.
6.10 Other items such as hinges, handles and drawers are guaranteed for 1 year from the date of delivery. Within this time-scale, we will replace defective goods, as outlined above, free of charge.
6.11 If an item is no longer available we will offer an alternative. However, our liability will be to replace the faulty goods only and we are unable to guarantee an exact match. In this instance, you will have the option of a refund on the items under the warranty claim.
6.12 Where we replace faulty goods you are responsible for their disposal if they have not previously been returned to us.
6.13 We are unable to guarantee an exact colour match due to the nature of the product. 6.14 All products are manufactured to tolerances of +/- 1.5mm.
6.15 Do not attempt to fix any problems yourself without contacting us first. We are unable to accept a return of any goods if any unauthorized alterations have been made. If goods have been altered without our prior authorization this may invalidate the manufacturer’s warranty.
6.16 If you intend to store any solid wood worktops for any period of time, please ensure the storage area is indoors, has stable humidity (warm & dry), and will not be subject to extreme temperature. Before storing the worktops they need to be treated to protect the worktop.
We recommend that all worktops are oiled immediately upon receipt. Installation should be carried out as soon as possible after delivery. However if storage is necessary, after oiling the worktops they must be laid flat. Worktops must not not be placed directly on the floor, instead separate the floor and the worktop with battens.

DO NOT UNPACK WORKTOPS UNLESS:
• The room humidity is stable.
•All carcasses and cabinets are built and fully fitted/complete.
•All building dust and debris has been cleaned and cleared off site.
•All wet trades are finished and a sufficient period of time allowed for natural drying.
•Fresh plasterwork has been allowed to dry for a minimum of 6 weeks or until the plaster is dry throughout.
6.17 All worktops have a + / – 3 millimetre tolerance

7. Liability

7.1 The products sold on this website have been designed to comply with all relevant UK legislation. We cannot warrant or represent that they comply with any legal requirement outside the uk.
7.2 We do not accept liability for any consequential loss of profit or indirect losses. You should therefore not book installation of the goods until you have received them and inspected them.
